The “cycle” road less travelled…
Welcome to my Substack, a space where I’ll be sharing insights, stories, and practical wisdom on a topic I believe we all need to understand better: our bodies, our menstrual cycles, and the profound impact they have on our lives.
Growing up, I didn’t know much about my body, my cycles or what it meant to have a period beyond the basics. No one really talked about it in a way that felt relevant or empowering. Like many of us, I navigated this part of my life without truly understanding it and in fact couldn’t wait to get onto the pill to “control” my period. The frustration, confusion and sometimes shame that came with it was something I just accepted as normal. But looking back now, I often think, If only I knew then, what I know now...
1. Why this, why now?
I’ve learned that our menstrual cycles are so much more than just a monthly inconvenience or something to dread. They are powerful indicators of our health, energy, and emotions. They hold the key to understanding ourselves on a deeper level—physically, mentally and emotionally. If I had known back then the wisdom my body was trying to share with me, I could have lived with more ease, confidence and clarity. I wouldn't have spent so many years feeling disconnected from myself.
That’s why I’ve created this space: to open up the conversation, share what I’ve learned along the way and help others embrace the opportunity that lies within our menstrual cycles.
2. What can you expect?
Whether you’re looking for practical tips, personal stories, or just a place to feel understood, this is the community for you. Let’s explore the wisdom of our bodies together and create a new narrative around menstruation—one that is empowering, liberating and deeply connected to who we are as women.
Our cycles aren’t just about periods. They represent a natural rhythm that can inform how we approach everything from productivity to rest, relationships and self-care. When we’re in tune with our bodies, we can harness the unique phases of our cycle—knowing when to push forward and when to step back. This understanding has been transformative for me and I know it can be for you too.
Stay curious, stay empowered and embrace the wisdom of being cycle savvy.
With love,
Natalie
